The cost price of 20 articles is the same as the selling price of x articles. If the profit is 25%, then the value of x is:
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let C.P. of each article be Re. 1 C.P. of x articles = Rs. x.
S.P. of x articles = Rs. 20.

Let CP be 100.
CP of 20 articles = SP of x articles.
CP * 20 = SP * x.
100 * 20 = SP * x.
2000 = SP * X ---> equation 1.
To find SP :
SP = CP( 1 + Profit%/100).
SP = 100(1 + 25/100).
SP = 100 (125/100),
Hence SP =125 ---> equation 2.
Substitute equation 2 into 1.
2000 = 125 * x.
x = 16.
CP of 20 articles = SP of x articles.
CP * 20 = SP * x.
100 * 20 = SP * x.
2000 = SP * X ---> equation 1.
To find SP :
SP = CP( 1 + Profit%/100).
SP = 100(1 + 25/100).
SP = 100 (125/100),
Hence SP =125 ---> equation 2.
Substitute equation 2 into 1.
2000 = 125 * x.
x = 16.

CP = 100/article.
SP = 125/article, as we know the profit% is 25%.
Therefore,
CP of 20 articles = SP of x articles.
=> 20 * 100 = x * 125.
=> x = 4 * 4.
=> x = 16 (Ans).
SP = 125/article, as we know the profit% is 25%.
Therefore,
CP of 20 articles = SP of x articles.
=> 20 * 100 = x * 125.
=> x = 4 * 4.
=> x = 16 (Ans).

CP = always 100%.
cp + sp = 125.
20 × 1000/125.
= 16.
cp + sp = 125.
20 × 1000/125.
= 16.

In ratio method,
20 c.p = x s.p
or,c.p:s.p = x:20
or, 20-x/x = 25/100
And solution is 16 RS.
20 c.p = x s.p
or,c.p:s.p = x:20
or, 20-x/x = 25/100
And solution is 16 RS.

So simple;
Let ,Cp = 100.
25%proft = 25.
So, SP = 125,
100 × 20 = 125x,
X = 16.
Let ,Cp = 100.
25%proft = 25.
So, SP = 125,
100 × 20 = 125x,
X = 16.

Let assume cp = 100,
Profit is 25%.
sp = 125.
cp 20 = spx,
sp/cp = 20/x,
125/100 = 20/x.
So, the final answer is 16.
Profit is 25%.
sp = 125.
cp 20 = spx,
sp/cp = 20/x,
125/100 = 20/x.
So, the final answer is 16.

Deriving formula:
S.P = [100 + gain% / 100 ] x C.P.
S.P is x.
C.P is 20x, so one CP is x/20,
x = 125/100 x (x/20),
x = 125x/2000,
2000x = 125x,
= 16.
S.P = [100 + gain% / 100 ] x C.P.
S.P is x.
C.P is 20x, so one CP is x/20,
x = 125/100 x (x/20),
x = 125x/2000,
2000x = 125x,
= 16.
