Answer: Option
Explanation:
Cost Price (C.P.) = Rs. (4700 + 800) = Rs. 5500.
Selling Price (S.P.) = Rs. 5800.
Gain = (S.P.) - (C.P.) = Rs.(5800 - 5500) = Rs. 300.
Gain % = | ![]() |
300 | x 100 | ![]() |
= 5 | 5 | % |
5500 | 11 |

We know that CP [4700+800]=5500
SP=5800
profit=SP-CP=5800-5500=300
profit%=300*100 divide by CP 5500 than we find 5.4545%
SP=5800
profit=SP-CP=5800-5500=300
profit%=300*100 divide by CP 5500 than we find 5.4545%

@Aamir Your answer is Here:
Table purchase price - 480.
Spent 20% of purchase price - 480*20/100 = 96.
Now table cost price is = Purchase+spent(480+96)=576.
To make a profit of 144.
He need to sell it = CP + Profit amount.
=576+144=720.
profit percentage on purchase price = profit value*100/purchase price
=144*100/480=25%.
Carpenter getting 25% profit on purchase price.

C.P is 480.
Total C.P after extra expenditure 480+(20%480).
= 576.
Profit = 144.
Profit % = 144/576 *100.
= 25%.
Total C.P after extra expenditure 480+(20%480).
= 576.
Profit = 144.
Profit % = 144/576 *100.
= 25%.

CP = 5500(including what he spends).
SP = 5800.
P = 300.
P% = (P/CP)*100 = (300/5500)*100 = 60/11.
SP = 5800.
P = 300.
P% = (P/CP)*100 = (300/5500)*100 = 60/11.

As per purchase cost is =5500.
Then he sells it to rs = 5800.
Less sp - cp = gain.
5800-5500 = 300.
If we want to find out the gain in % the use formula = (gain/cp) *100.
Then he sells it to rs = 5800.
Less sp - cp = gain.
5800-5500 = 300.
If we want to find out the gain in % the use formula = (gain/cp) *100.

As the cost price is 4700 Rs, and another amount has spend on its repairs i.e 800 Rs. So, total money spent by the person is Rs 5500(4700+800).
Now he sells it for Rs 5800.
SP = Rs 5800.
Profit= 5800-5500=> Rs 300 (he earns as profit).
P% = (Profit/CP) *100.
= (300/5500) *100.
And you get the required results by calculation 60/11. Option B :) :D.
