1.
Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Ronit's age. After further 8 years, how many times would he be of Ronit's age?
2 times
1 times
2
3 times
4
3 times
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let Ronit's present age be x years. Then, father's present age =(x + 3x) years = 4x years.

(4x + 8) = 5 (x + 8)
2

8x + 16 = 5x + 40

3x = 24

x = 8.

Hence, required ratio = (4x + 16) = 48 = 2.
(x + 16) 24

I have seen many solutions above but can't figure out that how they took 8 + 8 in the further 8-year equation.

Can anyone help me by explaining it?

@ Harsh

See Rohit present age comes out to be 8.

His father age is 32.

Now add 8 to both of these. Will be 16 and 40 respectively. Later is 2.5 times the former, adding 8, they will be 24 and 48 with latter is 2 times the former which is the answer. Hope it worked

How you got 5/2? I can't get that.

Husain SR. said:   9 years ago
Here, 2 and a half means 2.5.

So, 5/2 = 2.5.

Example: 3.5 means 7/2. Hope you get it.

if Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit means, 3x + x = 4x then After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Ronit's age.

In that above 'he' represent Ronit's father which means
(3x + 8) = 5/2(x + 8) right?

Then, how it will be (4x + 8) = 5/2(x + 8)?
