Two students appeared at an examination. One of them secured 9 marks more than the other and his marks was 56% of the sum of their marks. The marks obtained by them are:
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let their marks be (x + 9) and x.
Then, x + 9 = | 56 | (x + 9 + x) |
100 |
25(x + 9) = 14(2x + 9)
3x = 99
x = 33
So, their marks are 42 and 33.

Dear @Kavi,
Here we assume that two students mark, one is secured than other in 9 marks.
So let 1st student is x.
2nd student is x+9 [2nd student is secured 9 marks than 1st].

Obtained mark % = 56.
Total mark %= 100.
Remaining % = 100 - 56 = 44%.
Difference % = 56-44 = 12%.
Then the difference mark 9.
So,
12 % = 9.
56% = x.
56*9/12 = 42.
42-9 = 33.
Total mark %= 100.
Remaining % = 100 - 56 = 44%.
Difference % = 56-44 = 12%.
Then the difference mark 9.
So,
12 % = 9.
56% = x.
56*9/12 = 42.
42-9 = 33.

Obtained mark% = 56 and Total mark %= 100.
Remaining % = 100 - 56 = 44%.
Difference % = 56-44 = 12%.
Then the difference mark 9.
So,
12 %=9.
56% =x.
56*9/12 =42.
42-9 = 33.
Remaining % = 100 - 56 = 44%.
Difference % = 56-44 = 12%.
Then the difference mark 9.
So,
12 %=9.
56% =x.
56*9/12 =42.
42-9 = 33.

It's very simple.
If 1student got 56% that means other got 44%.
56 - 44 = 12%.
Fr 12%~9 is there,
So, for 100% ~99.
Only pair which satisfies it is 39 & 30.
That it.

A and B is there;
A + B = 100.
A = 56,B = 44,A - B = 12.
12%U = 9
12/100U = 9
3/25U = 9
3U = 9
1U = 3
A = 56% = 56/100,14/25U
A = 14U = 14 * 3 = 42
B = 11U = 11 * 3 = 33.
A + B = 100.
A = 56,B = 44,A - B = 12.
12%U = 9
12/100U = 9
3/25U = 9
3U = 9
1U = 3
A = 56% = 56/100,14/25U
A = 14U = 14 * 3 = 42
B = 11U = 11 * 3 = 33.

As per my method, the Solution is;
Gap in marks= 9.
Gap in percentage= 12%,
1st student marks = 56% = 56/12 * 9 = 42.
2nd student marks = 44% = 44/12 * 9 = 33.
Gap in marks= 9.
Gap in percentage= 12%,
1st student marks = 56% = 56/12 * 9 = 42.
2nd student marks = 44% = 44/12 * 9 = 33.

@All.
Simply, the solution is;
56 % and balance is 44, Right!
56/100 = 9,
56 - 44 / 100 = 9,
It will give you 75.
THEN,
56/100 X 75 = 42.
44/100 X 75 = 33.

Its very simple.
What is the % difference 12% mark difference 9 if 12% = 9; 56%=?
56*9/12 = 42 which is highest mark.
So 42-9 = 33.
Answer is 42, 33.
