Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let their marks be (x + 9) and x.
Then, x + 9 = | 56 | (x + 9 + x) |
100 |
25(x + 9) = 14(2x + 9)
3x = 99
x = 33

As one got X marks another X+9 so, the sum of both is 2x+9.

Given,
One of them secured 9 Mark's more than other.
And one person got 56%, the second person got 100-56=44.
Difference 56 - 44 = 12, So 12% is 9 Mark's.
12------------>9Mark's
56------------>?
56 * 9/12=42.
One person got 42 Mark's.
Another person got 42 - 9 = 33marks.
One of them secured 9 Mark's more than other.
And one person got 56%, the second person got 100-56=44.
Difference 56 - 44 = 12, So 12% is 9 Mark's.
12------------>9Mark's
56------------>?
56 * 9/12=42.
One person got 42 Mark's.
Another person got 42 - 9 = 33marks.

Answer = C.
1st students marks percentage = 56%,
2nd percentage= 100-56 = 44%,
Difference between marks = 9,
Difference between percentage=56-44 = 12%.
9 = 12% ->1 = 0.75 ->100 = 75(total marks).
56% = 0.75X56 = 42 ,44% = 0.75X44 = 33.
1st students marks percentage = 56%,
2nd percentage= 100-56 = 44%,
Difference between marks = 9,

Understand the statement :
One of them secured 9 marks more than the other.
So it is (9 + x) , right ?
Next part is " 56% of the sum of their marks"
So here, sum is (x + 9 + x).
And its 56% is (56/100) * (x + 9 + x).
So now, the important part is " .. 9 marks more than the other AND HIS MARKS WAS 56% of ... "
In this line, it says HIS Marks, so whose marks it is ?? It is the marks of ( 9 + x ).
(9 + x ) is the 56% of their sum.
Because of this line, we have equal to symbol in the equation,
So the equation is : (9 + x) = (56/100) * (x + 9 + x).

Go by option u will get answer easily ...
Let me choose 42 & 33
As all answers have difference of 9 so next step is to check 56 % condition for this answer ....
Now 56 % of sum of marks means 75 is 100 % then 42 is how much ?
calculate & u will get 56 % so u will come to know that the answer that u have chosen is d ri8 1 ... enjy :)

First find total marks
difference between percentage=56%-44%=9%
In the question given difference between marks as 12
so, if mark is percentage
9 12%
? 100%
so by cross multiplying total marks=(9*100)/12=75.
now student 1s marks=56% of 75 i.e
(56/100)*75=42.
student 2s marks=44% of 75 i.e
(44/100)*75=33.
difference between percentage=56%-44%=9%
