A invests 3500 Rs for 12 months (Why 12 - because profit is given of 1 year) in the ratio of 2.

B invests X Rs for 7 months (Why 7 - because B joins A after 5 months and profit is given of 1 year) in the ratio of 3.

3500*12+X*7 = 2/3.

42000+7X = 2/3.

7X = 3/2*42000.

X = 9000.

A & B start a buisness with Rs 240000 and Rs 300000 respectively. After 4 months C joins with them with Rs 81000 which is withdrawn by A & B according to their capital's ratio. At the end of the year profit is Rs 39150. Find the parts of profit received by A, B and C.

Can anyone solve this?

Let; B's capital is x.
Then 3500 * 12:7x.
42000 : 7x ::2:3.
6000:x::2:3=6000/x=2/3.
x = 9000.

@All.

If you consider B's initial investment answer would be 9000. If you consider B's total investment answer would be 7*9000=63000. So the word "initial should have added in the asking term. Generally, B's investment means a total investment of B. So to me answer is 63000.

@ Rokon Uddin.

They coined the term capital in the question.

So, it's obviously clear they are asking investment amount. Not the total amount.
