The average age of husband, wife and their child 3 years ago was 27 years and that of wife and the child 5 years ago was 20 years. The present age of the husband is:
35 years
40 years
50 years
None of these
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Sum of the present ages of husband, wife and child = (27 x 3 + 3 x 3) years = 90 years.

Sum of the present ages of wife and child = (20 x 2 + 5 x 2) years = 50 years.

Husband's present age = (90 - 50) years = 40 years.

Its simple:

Avg of 6 family members before 10 years is (Hus-10)+(wife-10)+(fath-10)+(othrs-30)/6 at 10 years ago.. By simpllifing abv we get (hus+wife+fath+othrs-60)/6

Present age average(Here babe replaces father): (Hus+wif+Babe+others)/6

As per given condition equate both the abv equ: U'll get Father's age=60 years..!! QUITE EASY NA ??

Present age average of H+W+C,

(H+W+C)/3 =30 ,since 27 + after 3 years.
=> H+W+C= 90(equation 1)

Present age average of Wife and Child,
(W+C)/2= 25(since 20+ 5 additional years),
=> W+C= 50(equation 2).

Substitution of W+C = 50 in equation 1 gives, H+W+C= 90,
=> H+50= 90 (since W+C= 50).
=> H= 40 years.

H+W+C=81 is sum three year ago and W+C=40 five year ago. So five year ago it is wife and child sum is 40. Each year a 1 age will be added for a person. So W+C=44 after two years. (now W+C=44 is three year ago) so H+44 = 81.

H = 37 three year ago. So at present his age is 37+3 = 40 = H.

3 years ago, the average age of H+W+C was 27.
The present average age of H+W+C /3 = 30 (each age increment by 3 so 3+3+3/3 =3)

5 years ago, the average age of w+c/2 = 20.
present average age will be w+c/2 = 25.

The present age of the husband will be h+w+c - (w+c) = 90 - 50 = 40.

The average age of a husband and wife at the time of their marriage was 25 years. A son was born to them exactly 2 years after their marriage and the average present age of all three is 24 years. How many years have been passed by the couple?
Can anyone explain the answer of this?

@All.

Take x, y, z intial age is 27 after three years it converted into 30. For three members it is 90.
Then 5 years back 20 years. Calculate with present age it is 25.

Now
X+Y+Z=(3*30)=90.
Y+Z=20(5 years back)Now =(25*2)=50,
Now equate it.
Y+Z cancelled,
X=90-50.
And X=40.

Five years ago, the average age of the Ram family has 5 members including Ram was 29 years. Ram got married 3 years ago and his only child was born 2 years after marriage so that the present average age of family becomes 28 years. Find the age of a bride at the time of marriage?

No need to add 3 to all.

You have add 3 to avg it give avg age of all.

Then age of three number = 30*3 = 90.

Then add 5 to avg age of child and wife it gives present age i.e. 25.

Age of two persons = 25*2 = 50.

Age of husband = total age - two members age.

90 - 50 = 40.
