A grocer has a sale of Rs. 6435, Rs. 6927, Rs. 6855, Rs. 7230 and Rs. 6562 for 5 consecutive months. How much sale must he have in the sixth month so that he gets an average sale of Rs. 6500?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Total sale for 5 months = Rs. (6435 + 6927 + 6855 + 7230 + 6562) = Rs. 34009.
Required sale = Rs. [ (6500 x 6) - 34009 ]
= Rs. (39000 - 34009)
= Rs. 4991.

@avinash
i.e,
since 6500 is d average
we write down all as follows
6435+65=6500
6927-427=6500
6855-355=6500
7230-730=6500
6562-62=6500
add all the values (i.e 65,-427,-355,-730,-62) we get -1509 adding it with 6500 we get 4991

5 consecutive months sale is 6435+6927+6855+7230+6562=34009.
So Avg of 5 numbers is,
34009%5 = 6,801.8.
Then to get avg sale 6500 in the 6th month.
From the options.
a) 4991--->34009+4991 = 39000.
(39000%6 )= 6500.
So Avg of 5 numbers is,
34009%5 = 6,801.8.
Then to get avg sale 6500 in the 6th month.
From the options.
a) 4991--->34009+4991 = 39000.
(39000%6 )= 6500.

HI FOLKS...ITS EASILY CN BE DONE AS:
LET THE SALE OF 6TH MONTH BE X
=>(6435 + 6927 + 6855 + 7230 + 6562 + X)/6=6500
=>(34009+X)/6=6500
=>34009+X=(6500 x 6)
=>X=39000 - 34009
=>X=4991
IE, RS.4991
LET THE SALE OF 6TH MONTH BE X
=>(6435 + 6927 + 6855 + 7230 + 6562 + X)/6=6500
=>(34009+X)/6=6500
=>34009+X=(6500 x 6)
=>X=39000 - 34009
=>X=4991
IE, RS.4991

Add all the values for 5 consecutive months which is equal to Rs. 34009.
Required sale is for six months is(6 * 6500) = 39000.
39000 - 34009 = 4991.
Therefore it's Rs. 4991.
Required sale is for six months is(6 * 6500) = 39000.
39000 - 34009 = 4991.
Therefore it's Rs. 4991.

Let the sale of six month is x rs.
Total sale of 5 months is 6435+6927+6855+7230+6562=34009÷5.
But for the sixth month 34009+x÷6=6500 after solving the equation,
= 4991.

Consider the sale of 6th month=x.
6435+6927+6855+7230+6562+x/6 = 6500
34009+x/6 =6500
34009+x = 39000.
x = 39000-34009.
x = 4891.
6435+6927+6855+7230+6562+x/6 = 6500
34009+x/6 =6500
34009+x = 39000.
x = 39000-34009.
x = 4891.

Add all 5 consecutive nos (6435 + 6927 + 6855 + 7230 + 6562) = 34009.
Sales for six months = (6500 * 6) = 39000.
At six months Rs = (39000-34009) = Rs. 4991.
Sales for six months = (6500 * 6) = 39000.
At six months Rs = (39000-34009) = Rs. 4991.

At First, Multiply 6500x6=39000 (bcoz avg is asking in Q)
Then, add all the 5 sale i.e 34009,
Deduct 39000 from the total sale i.e.34009, it becomes 4991.
Then, add all the 5 sale i.e 34009,
Deduct 39000 from the total sale i.e.34009, it becomes 4991.

Difference between 6500 from each is 65,-427,-355,-730,-62.
Add the following:
= 65 - 427 - 355 - 730 - 62,
= -1509,
Subtract from 6500.
6500 - 1509 = 4991.
Add the following:
= 65 - 427 - 355 - 730 - 62,
= -1509,
Subtract from 6500.
6500 - 1509 = 4991.
