The answer assumes the direction as below:
  N
W E
  S

But without specific information, following directions are also possible:
  S
E W
  N

  E
N S
  W

  W
S N
  E

Since the question does not state that the men and women are facing each other, any other solutions based on the above direction logic also would be correct.

Hi, It is confusing between b and d sitting it's also a correct statement because b and d are facing toward the south. For eg a person changing the direction toward north then to the south, its also change the position of the hand, the left hand become right and right hand become left.

@geetha, arvind and aaryan: No the answer is correct. Just imagine yourself facing south () like C, E, D, B, A clearly in this position B is just next to the left of D which is what have been said. Imagine yourself in the situation and your doubt will be clear.

Diagonal to each other means, connect all the points, then it would make a square figure, and the diagonal would be the end letters of the figure. For example, consider a square and name it as ABCD, then A is a diagonal to D and B is diagonal to C.

"E is opposite to O who is just next right of M. ".

What is the difference between just right and just next right?

I think as per the given information there should be one alphabate between M &O. Am I right?

Question is not clear, as it is not mentioned that whether the Men and Women are facing each other or back to each other, satisfying the parallel line sitting arrangement and direction of facing.

If C is diagonal opposite to N

So it could be

D B A C E

P Q N M O

satisfying all the arrangement's but not the question.

There is another possible case which satisfies all the conditions but not the answers:

A E C D B.
M O N P Q.

Does the diagonal ends mean C and N must have to be at the ends?

A D B E C

N P Q O M

It must be correct, as far as the conditions are concerned, but the diagram provided by the administrator is also correct one.
