C can seat either left or right.
But if you read the question carefully it is clear that by saying 'A and C are seating together ' hence the position of c is fixed which is at the left of D.

The correct answer is "between B and C" because from the question, A is next to B, C next to D but E is at the left side of the bench and is not next to D yet C is second from the right, A is to the right of B with A sitting next to C so conclusion EBACD.

Here we are having 5 ppl A is next to B so A can sit either in left or in right side but together and the same thing for C and the last thing is D and E are not sitting together then E have to be in the 1st position.
