Hope tis cud help u..

1. A is sitting next to B. so,

A B

2. C is sitting next to D. so,

C D

3. D is not sitting with E, who is on the left end of the bench. so,

E _ _ _ _

4. C is on the second position from the right. so,

E _ _ C _

5. A is to the right of B and E. A and C are sitting together.

E B A C D

because A should be placed to left of C so that it will be right of E. Also it should be to the right of B, so place B next to E. Now A and C will be sitting together. Only place left will be towards the right end, there you place D.

6. So, A is sitting between B and C

7. And the answer is option B

According to the question.

E is at the leftmost corner out of the 5 seats.
Now, 4 seats are left.
C is 2nd from the right.
Now it is given that a is sitting next to c and b
Therefore it means it cannot sit on rightmost seat.
Therefore it is sitting to left of c
Now since it is sitting to right of b and next to c -
Hence a is on the 3 Rd position and b is on the 2 new position.
Only one seat is left now and therefore d is on the rightmost seat.

Yes @Vasavi is right.

Here "sitting next" doesn't mean that it will be on right side only. It may on either left or right side. But here in the question it clearly mention that A is right to B and hence A is placed right to B. In question it also mention that C position is 2nd from the right so here no option is left, you have to place the D on right side of C.

Hence the equation must be E B A C D.

There are 5 sitting in a bench, You could always start with the one which is clearly mentioned which is "E", E is sitting in the Left End,

It is mentioned that "A" is sitting to the right of "E" & "B" so Now we found the 3 seats from Left which is "E", "B", "A".

It is also given that "A" & "C" are sitting together which means "E", "B", "A", "C" and the remaining is "D".

1. A and C are sitting together
i.e A C

2. A is to the right of B and E
i.e E B A C

3. C is on the second position from the right / D is not sitting with E who is on the left end of the bench.
Put D in the last place.
E B A C D.

4. It justifies A is sitting next to B and C is sitting next to D.

Answer: A is between B and C.

The correct answer is "between B and C" because from the question, A is next to B, C next to D but E is at the left side of the bench and is not next to D yet C is second from the right, A is to the right of B with A sitting next to C so conclusion EBACD.

Here we are having 5 ppl A is next to B so A can sit either in left or in right side but together and the same thing for C and the last thing is D and E are not sitting together then E have to be in the 1st position.

So, the answer is EBACD.

I have doubt about directions..how to determine left and right here..is it to left of the person solving the puzzle as it is assumed in this solution or to the letters, which we assume in other solutions like seating arrangements in cirecle
