Two cars start from the opposite places of a main road, 150 km apart. First car runs for 25 km and takes a right turn and then runs 15 km. It then turns left and then runs for another 25 km and then takes the direction back to reach the main road. In the mean time, due to minor break down the other car has run only 35 km along the main road. What would be the distance between two cars at this point?

15 KM is not counted because it's negligible.

In this case, the total distance from both vehicles is only calculated from the area that they have covered from being opposite of each other. i.e, By being on the "Main Road".

The answer will be correct when we assume for example in the direction max the shortest distance we prefer.

Here when he takes the final 25 km left turn .To reach the main road he might prefer a 15km left turn to reach the main road so that he is covering the main road distance of 50km.
But my question is why this kind of assumption may lead to different answers and that one will be correct according to everyone's assumptions right.

Anyone, please clarify my doubt.
