Thank you its great to see like this problems make mind really sharp, off course however there is 3 persons so we took out from every one 3 years so like that if we do means it must be 9, which has to be taken out from total age. Please note the question they asked total of their age is 80 years 3 years before. So here total persons are 3 and 3 years before (so 3x3 = 9, then 80-9 = 71 years. |

Actually the confusion some are facing is the value provided is not average so there is no need for multiplying 8083 - 9 again divide by 3. The answer is simple they given 80 in total and asked for deducting 9 from 80 as 3 people * 3 years each = 9. 80-9 = 71. |

Yes, this is right why because the total age of three persons is 80,before three years, we have to subtract each three with the total age. i.e,(80-3+3+3) = 71. That's all. |
