If 2m is left on each side than answer shold be 26 There are 11 gapes between the two corner trees (11 x 2) metres and 1 metre on each side is left. Therefore Length = (22 + 2+2) m = 26 m. |

I also think answer should be 26. Because one metre is left from all sides of the boundary of the garden. |
Chaman said: (Apr 12, 2012)
Answer would be 24m. Because one meter is left from all sides but its length is asked in question. So 22+ (1m from left+1m from right) =24m. |

Yes, the answer is 24 only. He asked only the length of the garden, but not breadth. |

Distance between boundary and first tree=1 meter. And there are 12 trees so distance between 12 trees =11*2=22 meters. (distance between two trees is 2 meters). Distance between boundary and last tree=1 meter. 1+22+1=24 meters. |

Distance can also be measured considering there are 12 trees in 1 row, each having 1 meter on either side of each tree i.e. 2 meters/tree. Therefore: 12 trees*2 meters=24 meters length. |

In Q if height is asked then how it should be solve, please someone tell me? |
Harsh Pamnani said: (Oct 5, 2014)
Answer can be 20m also. Because it is not mentioned that which side is length I can consider 20m as a length also. |

How we calculate height in the same Q some one tell me? |
Udaya said: (Jan 17, 2015)
We can't calculate the height because here it is given only no.of tree. |

What is the height of a 1900 metre mango tree? |

Why are there 12 plants in each row, if there are 10 plants in a row in the question? Please explain? |
Costas said: (Dec 23, 2015)
It is not determined which side's length must be calculated. The question could instead ask for the area without any further information. |
Siyad said: (Jun 13, 2017)
@Costas. Length means the longest side. So here 10 and 12. So 12 is length and 10 is the breadth. |
Abix said: (Mar 13, 2018)
It is 22 since only row can be considered as length so 2*10=20. Then 20+1+1=22. |
Shreyash said: (Aug 13, 2018)
@Abix. But number of column is more here, so we have to go column-wise in order to get length. So, 11 gaps * 2 (distance b/w gaps) = 22. |

Why don't you take 10 in a row? |
