What is wrong here?

The sentence makes sense without adding 'him' also right?

There must be 'if I had come to know' instead 'had I come'.

And 'him' at the end present or not it doesn't make any difference so the answer is A.

If the sentence started with 'Had I come', then the sentence will finish with a question mark. There should be question mark in option D.
