I think that it should be 'Being the eldest son, his father expects him to take care of several things besides his regular studies'.

I think that in option A "he" should be replaced by "Him".

Being the eldest son, seems good.
When son is already being mentioned above, implies that is a male.
When son is already being mentioned above, implies that is a male.

If "Being the eldest son" is right, then the person that is mentioned after that must be the son not "his father".
For example: Being tired, I decide to take a rest.
