Discuss is transitive verb, we need its object so it is always discuss something i.e. discuss why, discuss what, discuss how so on?

Here "discussed" means past tense and so "thoroughly" means future tense (not done).

I think here A is the answer because it should be in present perfect tense.

Actualy 'thoroughly' itself indicates that it is perfect and no need of saying 'so thoroughly' it seems an error there.

You should not use the words so and thoroughly at a time so its wrong hence option is correct because it is a mistake.
