@All.

Here no need to write " about". Because we write "about" for some person or things and discuss is neither a person nor things.

Yes. Since "European" is a word starting with a "Consonant sound (ya)", it must only be "a European".

Discuss = describing object.

About = character of object.

Those are nearly similar meaning. So, no need to use one after another.

Discuss is transitive verb, we need its object so it is always discuss something i.e. discuss why, discuss what, discuss how so on?

Here "discussed" means past tense and so "thoroughly" means future tense (not done).

We use "discuss" for the correct sentence.

I think here A is the answer because it should be in present perfect tense.

i.e. We had discussed the problem so thoroughly.

How to find errors and any rules or any book for this?

If there is anything for reference please send to my mail friends.

Actualy 'thoroughly' itself indicates that it is perfect and no need of saying 'so thoroughly' it seems an error there.
