@Anusree.

It is correct! me should be used in place of my. My is used with the objects (either living or non living). Like my pen, my mother, my father, my book, etc. While me is used with an activity. Like "no question of me doing that boring work"! your comments are invited!

I guess that sentence is correct as the 'of' is a preposition, so it should be followed by a verb in 'ing' form and the pronoun which precedes it should be in possessive form viz. 'my'.

Here, my replace by me. "of me failing" is correct answer, because "of" is preposition and we know that, [preposition + objective case + v4].

Failing is verb of is helping verb failing is used here as a verb not gerund and my should be replaced with me because preposition followed by objective case.

The principal objected to their wearing short skirts at the function. Here "to their wearing" is equivalent to "of my failing". So there is no error.

Option D is right answer because the sentence form by these parts of sentences is right. Any one can check it out on google?

Its not true because before gerund pronoun is used only in possessive form so in this sentence no error has occurred.

Where can we use 'me','my','I am'??
Which is more correct,"I am at home" or "Me at home".

No error, as failing here is gerund (noun).

And for failing possessive pronoun my is absolutely correct.

I think this can be like this " there is no question of my failure in the examination". Isn't it?
