'The' should not be used and correct answer should be C.

Absolutely. C must be the correct option. We cannot play THE Guitar. We play Guitar. It is simply because we cannot know THE English, but we can know English. And I don't know what's the problem with PLAY (Option B).

I think the problem here is because of "the". Definite article should be used when we refer to a specific object in the context already known. Since here, we are using in general sense, "the" should be dropped.

First, Guitar is Noun so it's the first error.

Next, it will be how to play.

Obviously its right "how to play".

@ Avinash.

Considering the clause 'How to play. ' can simplify this. It has been promoted to the main clause from subordinate clause so the 'how', with a gut feeling, will better suit in that clause.

I totally agree with @Akash and I think option C must be the correct answer here, as we are referring to a common/general object therefore must use 'a guitar' instead of 'the guitar'.

Hence the answer: Do you know to play a guitar?

I think C has not a punctually right because there is a question mark.

It can also be 'Do you know to play guitar?'.

A GUITAR!

To play/ how to play A GUITAR.

Difference between written and spoken language. I think the correct answer should be C.

The above explanations given Dhairya and Akash make complete sense.
