@Nandan... The given sentence in its original form is meaningless. If it would have been "you must remember to post this letter" it would have correct.

Remember and remind both are different word and meaning.

Remember (noun) means recall.

And remind (verb) means prompt.

And in sentence it better to use remind instead of remember.

Sentence demand such a word that prove the meaning for it.

That's it.

Do you remember me. For human beings we use remember. For things or for work use remind.

It can also be," You must remember to post this letter."

Nothing is wrong in this sentence too, isn't it?

REMEMBER and REMIND are the verbs related to MEMORY.

REMEMBER - Is an INTERNAL process which is done by the person himself and nobody can help him to memorize if he wishes not to memorize anything happened. Only the person himself can read his own brain and let the things come out of his mind. It is totally personal.

{--EX:-I still remember that journey.}

REMIND - Is an EXTERNAL process. People can help other to memorize the things happened. When people/others make someone memorize about any incident/thing happened, there will be REMIND in action. It is exactly contrast to REMEMBER.

{--EX:-Please, remind me to go to temple on Saturday as I am absent minded.}
