Ya "pick hole" in the sense "pick faults of someone" as we find holes in road. So criticism is right answer. And quarreling cannot be appropriate.

If you are picking holes in an argument or theory you are disapproving of it or finding fault with it. Poke holes & shoot holes can also be used instead of pick.

To pich holes means " find out fault in anyone" so right answer is to criticise.
