To pick holes means to criticise someone.

Ex. He ''picks up holes'' in whatever I say.

You can as well find a reason to quarrel but the reason might not be deep however when you really find those specific critics that no one can disapprove that's what we call picking holes. So A is also the correct answer

When someone “picks holes” in an argument, plan, or idea, they are trying to find faults, defects, or weaknesses in it, often through constant criticism.
The manager kept picking holes in my project report instead of appreciating the effort.
