When someone “picks holes” in an argument, plan, or idea, they are trying to find faults, defects, or weaknesses in it, often through constant criticism.

You can as well find a reason to quarrel but the reason might not be deep however when you really find those specific critics that no one can disapprove that's what we call picking holes. So A is also the correct answer

If you are picking holes in an argument or theory you are disapproving of it or finding fault with it. Poke holes & shoot holes can also be used instead of pick.

Ya "pick hole" in the sense "pick faults of someone" as we find holes in road. So criticism is right answer. And quarreling cannot be appropriate.
