Directions to Solve
But I did not want to shoot the elephant. I watched him beating his bunch of grass against his knees, with the preoccupied grandmotherly air that elephants have. It seemed to me that it would be murder to shoot him. I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to. (Somehow it always seems worse to kill large animal.) Besides, there was the beast's owner to be considered. But I had got to act quickly. I turned to some experienced-looking Burmans who had been there when we arrived, and asked them how the elephants had been behaving. They all said the same thing; he took no notice of you if you left him alone, but he might charge if you went too close to him.

The line ''I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to''. It suggests that the author has an inexperience of killing animals like an elephant, so killing an elephant will be a murder to him. B is my answer.

The line, "I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to". It shows that he is inexperienced in killing elephants and it also states that he has killed animals, that is, he is not inexperienced.

Even I felt the same the answer should be c. In the given passage it is clearly mentioned that "i had never shot an elephant and never wanted to shoot" this sentence shows he did not wish to shoot.

According to author the guy never wanted to shoot an elephant but the author didn't explain the reason. So the answer given in option 'C' seems to be an assumption. So 'B' is better choice.

In my point of view, the answer is D because he noticed the behaviour of the elephant and he loves that also. Answer, C also prior to Answer D but in answer D, the elephant is represented.

it always seems worse to kill large animals. The author is focusing only in the large animals. i.e. option C will definitely not the answer. So, the correct Answer is option B.

This comprehension is a part of General Ability Test of Engineering Services Examination(ESE) 2012 Series A. But they provided option C as correct solution in their answer key.

I think answer is C. Because elephant is the big animal so experience is not a matter and in this the given first line not shoot the animal so like should the answer C.

C answer is correct because author says that 'he did not want to shoot the elephant'. It clearly tells that he was calm, dignified and affectionate disposition.
