Pins are attached to the midpoint of a side of the main figure in the case of figures (2), (3), (4) and (5). In fig (1), these pins are attached to a vertex of the main figure.

Option (E) could also be correct, as it is the only which has no vertical line of symmetry.

Option D is correct as in all images, the number of sides is equal to the number of lines but in option D) 4 i.e. here is the pentagon, more than lines on it.

1 is correct because all other figures are regular polygons although figure 1 has five sides of the pentagon.
