Exactly, it is Taq polymerase, the enzyme to be used because it is the one which is thermostable.

Taq polymerase is used. It is heat stable enzymes extracted from the thermophilus bacteria which dwells in the hot springs and geysers.

E.coli polymerase can't survive high temperature so the Taq polymerase is used as it is extracted from thermophilic bacteria Thermus aquaticus.

Normally taq polymerase is used because it is stable at high temperature during denaturation step. So something is wrong in question.

But we also use Taq polymerase to lay out the primers after denaturation.
