Which of the following bacteria lack a cell wall and are therefore resistant to penicillin?

These is because if someone miss daily use of his/her antibiotics as commanded by physician, the bacteria inside will change in to L-form which cause chronic disease, these is as the result of cell wall break down. Example is Mycoplasma.

Because these bacteria as you say lack cell wall, so the penicillin attack cell by attaching PBPs. Hence no cell wall, no effect of antibiotics.

Mycoplasma because its a mycobacterium and they are difficult to test for unless for acid fast staining.

Mycoplasma lack a cell wall around their cell membrane. Without a cell wall, they are unaffected by many common antibiotics such as penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics that target cell wall synthesis.

It is a unique bacteria. No cell wall and contains cholesterol.

According to the mechanism of drug action penicillin attack, the cell wall of bacteria but mycoplasma do not contain cell wall so the drug will produce no effect on the mycoplasma bacteria.

It means if the there is no cell wall then no antibiotics act on it.

Because it lacks peptidoglycan cell wall which covalently binds to another aminoacid of the neighbouring chains hence no transpeptidase which catalyses the reaction. And the mode of action of penicillin is to inhibit the enzyme transpeptidase. Hence why mycoplasma is resistant to penicillin?
