Inlet valve, exhaust valve, and fuel injector valve.
Jai Mishra said: (Jul 2, 2013)
Yes there are three valve present in diesel engine.
Dheeraj said: (Oct 16, 2013)
|Fuel injector doesn't have a valve it is actuated by the camshaft but doesn't have valve.
It is not necessary that diesel engine has only 3 valves.
I have studied BMW, cummins and Leyland engine and found 4 valves there.

There is no fuel injector valve in CI engine. But FI works like a valve function.
Sanjay said: (Jan 30, 2014)
Diesel engine two valve or four valve, inlet valve & exhaust valve.
Murali said: (Feb 19, 2014)
I have studied diesel engine has two valves, fuel injector is a port that delivers only fuel in combustion chamber.
Dimple Gandhi said: (May 16, 2014)
Diesel engine may have 2 or 4 valves. It has one injection port to inject diesel.
Rana Sajid said: (May 23, 2014)
It has actually two valves. First is inlet & other is outlet FI working like Valve. :).
Maddy said: (May 31, 2014)
The diesel engine has 2 valves for SOHC or 4 valves for DOHC in each cylinder.
Mano said: (Jun 4, 2014)
In case of two stroke engines there are 3 ports but in 4 stroke engines only two valves.
Krishna said: (Jun 22, 2014)
We cannot say FI is a valve.
Sangram said: (Jul 11, 2014)
Inlet valve, exhaust valve, fuel injector.
Ezhilarasan said: (Aug 7, 2014)
|I have studied diesel engines two valves. One is inlet valve other.
One is exhaust valve. The fuel injector is a fuel in a combustion chamber.
Upendra said: (Aug 23, 2014)
|In diesel engine either 2 valve or 4 valve are present.
But in some case solenoid (DICOR) is treated as valve so total 3 or 5 valve could be said.
Sugumaran said: (Oct 1, 2014)
May be inlet valve used for intake of compressed air. Please do anyone clarify and tell me?
Sanjay said: (Oct 15, 2014)
|A valve is a device that regulates, directs or controls the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids, fluidized solids, or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways.
According to this, In diesel Engine three Valves are one for Intake Air, 2nd for Exhaust gas and 3rd is for Fuel (Injector).
V.Anandhakumar said: (Nov 2, 2014)
|2, 4 not wrong the answers.
We can not say three valves only different diesel engine have 2, 3, 4 valves because all are there.
Any objection in my report please give clarifications to me.
If we use word most of the engine the answer is correct.

Diesel engine have 3 valve sometimes we called valve to fuel injector. It is works likes valve mechanism.
Rishiraj said: (Jan 16, 2015)
Fuel inject (spray) by a nozzle in cylinder not by valve. So there is two valve-inlet & exhaust.
B. A. Shingala said: (Apr 25, 2015)
Fuel Injector is not a valve.
P. Zade said: (May 18, 2015)
In diesel engine there are only two valve per cylinder.
Rohan said: (Aug 28, 2015)
Inlet valve, exhaust valve and relief valve.
Mahendra Chauhan said: (Dec 28, 2015)
|Fuel inject (spray) by a nozzle in combustion chamber.
Inlet valve for air intake & exhaust valve for exhaust valve. Therefore we find two valve & one injector in a diesel engine.
Amal said: (Jan 5, 2016)
|I think FI cannot be termed as valve because diesel engine has multi point injection system for fine atomization in order to get nearly homogeneous mixture inside cylinder. This can be done through very small ports and also through number of ports at different locations. So, diesel engines have two valves.
Any modifications are welcomed.
Rahul Verma said: (Apr 28, 2016)
We can consider the inlet and outlet as a valve but fuel injector as a port.
Vrc said: (Aug 29, 2016)
|As per R.S. KHURMI, Diesel engines have three valves i.e. Inlet valve, exhaust valve, and fuel injector valve.
But I am also not satisfied for this.
Madhuri said: (Nov 22, 2016)
In Diesel Engine only two valve Fuel injector.
Pankaj said: (Dec 5, 2016)
It's two valve and including F.I. it have 3 valve generally.
Jabir Ansari said: (Jan 2, 2017)
I have a truck in my home and everytime I saw either two valves or four valves. But never three valves.
Thennarasu Arumugam said: (Jan 3, 2017)
|Two valves (inlet & exhaust), but injection is by port(injector nozzle).
So, diesel engine has two valves.
Ani said: (Jan 9, 2017)
|Diesel engine has valve ranging from 2-8. And valves are used only for intake and exhaust purpose.
Even no of valves have equal no of intake and exhaust valve. And in odd no exhaust valve is one less then intake valve.
Anil Mathi said: (Jan 31, 2017)
2 inlet valves and 2 exhaust valves are there.
Perumal R said: (Mar 14, 2017)
Diesel engine have only two valves inlet & Exhaust valve.
Santosh Khainur said: (Apr 24, 2017)
I know only 2 valves in engine but according to R. S KURMI there is three valves. The third one is fuel injector valve.
Pramod Bandgar said: (Aug 4, 2017)
I think the answer is two valve is right because fuel injector injects through nozzle.
Md Mukhtar Ansari said: (Aug 20, 2017)
I think two valve is the right answer, but in RS Khurmi fuel injector is considered as a valve. But exactly it is injector, not a valve.
Anket said: (Aug 22, 2017)
|Valve arrangement merely depends on no of cylinders, Each cylinder can use two valves (one exhaust one intake) or Each cylinder can use four valves (2 intake and 2 exhaust).
Three valves can also be used as per requirement of the vehicle.
Ankush said: (Dec 20, 2017)
Choice of valve totally depends on engine design requirement. It can be two for basic study purpose and can be four in practical cases. There is no law governing three valve system in a diesel engine.
Saboorkhan said: (Jan 21, 2018)
Valve arrangement merely depends on no of cylinders, Each cylinder can use two valves (one exhaust one intake) or Each cylinder can use four valves 2 intake and 2 exhaust.
Mohammed Abbas said: (Oct 9, 2018)
|Only two valve in diesel engine.
Three valve is used only in pre-requirement of diesel engine.
Indher said: (Oct 24, 2018)
There are Only two valves in a diesel engine. The fuel injector is not a valve.
Emad Elmoazamy said: (Dec 9, 2018)
Diesel Engine has only 2 or 4 valves according to Engine power Capacity.
Surya said: (Feb 5, 2019)
A multi-valve engine design typically has three, four, or five valves per cylinder to achieve improved performance only. But any four-stroke internal combustion engine needs at least two valves per cylinder. Fuel injector is consider as a port.
Bhosale said: (Oct 21, 2019)
Inlet valve, exhaust valve, fuel injector.
