Yes there are three valve present in diesel engine.

Fuel injector doesn't have a valve it is actuated by the camshaft but doesn't have valve.

It is not necessary that diesel engine has only 3 valves.

I have studied BMW, cummins and Leyland engine and found 4 valves there.

There is no fuel injector valve in CI engine. But FI works like a valve function.

I have studied diesel engine has two valves, fuel injector is a port that delivers only fuel in combustion chamber.

The diesel engine has 2 valves for SOHC or 4 valves for DOHC in each cylinder.

In case of two stroke engines there are 3 ports but in 4 stroke engines only two valves.
