Kinematic viscosity= Dynamic viscosity/Density.

= 0.011/0.95 = 0.011578 = Approx 0.0116.

Here use the density of water as 1gm/cc directly instead of 1000kg/m^3 for ease so that the density of liquid will be 1*0.95 =0.95gm/cc.

As viscosity is given in the CGS system.

The Liquid has a viscosity of 0.05 poise and specific gravity of 0.85 calculate:

1- viscosity in English unit.
2- kinematic viscosity in stoke.

Dynamic viscosity- 1 Ns/m2 = 10 poise.
Or 1 poise = 0.1 Ns/m2.
Kinematic Viscosity- 1 m2/s = 10^4 stokes
Or 1 stokes = 10^-4 m2/s.
Given:
Sp. gravity= 0.95 .'. Density= 0.95*1000
= 950 kg/m3.
Dynamic viscosity= 0.011 poise
= 0.0011 Ns/m2.

.'. Kinematic viscosity
=Dynamic viscosity/Density
=0.0011/950
= 1.16*10^-6 m2/s.
= 1.16x10^-6x10^4 stokes.
= 0.0116 stokes.
