But this news agency gives us information which is reliable to an extraordinary high degree due to elaborate techniques of verification and its capacity to survive centuries. So, science should be read with as much interest as we read news.

I think both are implicit.

How did they get those exceptional info? through investigating.
So to have information which is reliable and extraordinary, you have to be motivated to investigate.

I think not a single sentence is implicit.
1. Science is reliable. But there is no discussion of spirits. How can it be implicit?
2. The sentence here is. People read science new out of interest, not all the news. How can both be same?

I think option II is not implicit because in the last sentence it is given that "science should be read with as much interest as we read news". And in sentence II it is implying about reading news with interest.

This does not show that people "The people read news out of interest".
Science has been compared to study as every people's interest in any news.

Here it is not mention that Science encourages investigative spirit. And only the last line says people read news with interest. So I assumed that the II assumption is implicit.

I agree with @Pavan, only I is implicit. II is implicit if the statement is "People read science out of interest".
