  • (A) If only assumption I is implicit
  • (B) If only assumption II is implicit
  • (C) If either I or II is implicit
  • (D) If neither I nor II is implicit
  • (E) If both I and II are implicit.

26.

Statement: Please consult us before making any decision on investment.

Assumptions:

  1. You may take a wrong decision if you don't consult us.
  2. It is important to take a right decision.

Only assumption I is implicit
Only assumption II is implicit
Either I or II is implicit
Neither I nor II is implicit
Both I and II are implicit
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Clearly, the statement was spoken for fear that the other person may take a wrong decision. So, I is implicit. Again, the statement confirms that it is important to take the right decision. So, II is also implicit.

The statement emphasizes words "please consult us. "; implying that 'we' have better knowledge than you for taking a RIGHT decision. Therefore it is assumed that you may take a wrong decision without consulting 'us'.

However, the statement does not imply any IMPORTANCE to take right decision. So 2nd assumption doesn't imply from the given statement.
