Give answer

  • (A) If only assumption I is implicit
  • (B) If only assumption II is implicit
  • (C) If either I or II is implicit
  • (D) If neither I nor II is implicit
  • (E) If both I and II are implicit.

42.

Statement: The patient's condition would improve after operation.

Assumptions:

  1. The patient can be operated upon in this condition.
  2. The patient cannot be operated upon in this condition.

Only assumption I is implicit
Only assumption II is implicit
Either I or II is implicit
Neither I nor II is implicit
Both I and II are implicit
Answer: Option
Explanation:
The fact that patient's condition would improve after the operation clearly implies that the patient can be operated upon in this condition. So, I is implicit.

The condition of a patient, who is in no condition to undego an operation, may improve if that patient were to undergo an that operation. Therefore assumption 1 is not implicit.
