It should be 8mil because Alexis is farther away not in between the Samantha and Francis.

A is farther away than F but closer than S.
So, A=(7+5)/2;
A=6.

Closer than Samantha means that Alexis is closer to airport than samantha. It doesn't mean that Alexis is closer to Samantha. So the answer is six only. Please understand the question carefully.

It should be 8 miles. Because 8 is farthest away from frances and the distance of alexis from samantha would still be 1 miles.
