The logic problems in this set present you with three true statements: Fact 1, Fact 2, and Fact 3. Then, you are given three more statements (labeled I, II, and III), and you must determine which of these, if any, is also a fact. One or two of the statements could be true; all of the statements could be true; or none of the statements could be true. Choose your answer based solely on the information given in the first three facts.

I got it wrong too. So have done my own analysis.
The problem assumes that all pens are writing utensils. This is, in fact, true because all pens are indeed writing instruments only. However, this is not mentioned in the problem as a fact. Some will argue that this cannot be derived solely based on the information given in the facts. Similarly, the problem doesn't state that a blue pen is a pen but it is understood that a blue pen has to be a pen. So a pen has to be a writing instrument.

I think the correct answer is D.
As for I-some writing utensils are pens but we don't know it may write or not as some pens don't writ and some do. It can fall under any category. So this is not a fact that they don't write.
For II-SOME WRITING UTENSILS ARE PENS. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT BE BLUE SO WE CANT SAY ITS BLUE. SO II IS NOT A FACT.

Hold on Guys., Let me explain you clearly:
1. " A " is correct based upon the fact 1 & 3.
2. " B " is correct because some writing utensils are pens and certainly "blue" is the color of the pen that means definitely this one of this kind exists.

The problem here is whether PENS are within WRITING UTENSILS.
1) If ALL "pens" are within "writing utensils" then B.
2) If SOME "pens" are within "writing utensils" then D.
Based on the given facts (without external knowledge) it is not certain that ALL pens are writing utensils (maybe some pens are for drawing or whatever). So I would say the 2nd rule applies, therefore the correct statement is D.
1) If ALL "pens" are within "writing utensils" then B.
2) If SOME "pens" are within "writing utensils" then D.
Based on the given facts (without external knowledge) it is not certain that ALL pens are writing utensils (maybe some pens are for drawing or whatever). So I would say the 2nd rule applies, therefore the correct statement is D.

Option A should be the correct one.
Because it is stating that Some writing utensils are pens but it is not confirm that all the pens are writing utensils.
Second fact is saying all blue pens write not all pens are blue. So, I think only statement I is true.

I think option D is correct. Because it is not given that all writing utilities are pen.
Some writing utilities are pen. But which type of pen? They all can be blue. In case all writing utilities writes.

I believe that the correct answer is in fact A. Fact two does not state anything about the existence of a blue pen and is in fact valid if there are no blue pens. Hence we cannot say that there are blue utensils.

The correct answer would be D. As it has not mentioned that wirting utensils are pen and we cannot say whether it is a blue pens or the pens which don't write. Incase if it has used some pens which can write.
