Logical Reasoning - Course of Action - Discussion

Discussion Forum : Course of Action - Section 1 (Q.No. 38)
Directions to Solve

In each question below is given a statement followed by two courses of action numbered I and II. You have to assume everything in the statement to be true and on the basis of the information given in the statement, decide which of the suggested courses of action logically follow(s) for pursuing.

Give answer

  • (A) If only I follows
  • (B) If only II follows
  • (C) If either I or II follows
  • (D) If neither I nor II follows
  • (E) If both I and II follow.

Statement: Most of the development plans develop in papers only.

Courses of Action:

  1. The in-charges should be instructed to supervise the field-work regularly.
  2. The supply of paper to such departments should be cut short.

Only I follows
Only II follows
Either I or II follows
Neither I nor II follows
Both I and II follow
Answer: Option
Clearly, proper supervision alone can see the development in practice. So, only course I follows.

A supervisor is not enough until a group of better skilled labour are also not available.

A german engineer cannot command Indian labor until they learn the methods and for that we need and educated labor, which should be the first priority before making big construction plans.

'Most of the development plans develop in papers only'.

This seems like bad grammar or English to me. I literally don't understand the statement.

When Development Plan has not reached the field stage, who and why will someone go to supervise?

"D" is the correct answer.

Souritra said:   9 years ago
Answer should be "D". There is no mention of "supervise the field-work" in the statement!

I think "a" should be the correct answer because if the instruction are not passed by the existing gov. How can the field work take place?

I agree with steve. D should be the answer. Since the paper is needed for any development plans. And those in-charge should not do field work as it decreases the majority of the work, which is in paper.

If development plans are only on paper there is no fieldwork, hence this is wrong.
