Each and everything have its own time to express. As mentioned, your boss is crazy about the idea, you should leave him with his state of mind for at least 10 to 15 minutes. After that surely every boss will ask for the employee opinion, time for you to express it with a proper evidence.

Everyone has its own freedom to think and make it in progress as per himself or herself, if some one ask me I would tell him to listen to himself what his heart or his mind says about that because following to himself would lead to the success of his own thinking what it is called as an idea, but I would let him know my thinking also.

Sir, I know that it's my duty to follow the orders of my boss which are related to my job but it is also my duty to work of the benefits of my company so, first I will listen to his idea and then I would like to present my view in logical point and other issues that are beneficial for the company.

I won't initially point out the negatives in his idea neither compare. That would make my boss feel offended. Instead I will put up the positives in my idea in larger number. He will himself compare and make the right decision.

I will be honest. At the same time, I will apologize to my boss. But Boss is not bigger than a company. As an employee, I should think about my company benefit first.

I would start with a positive note "Yes Boss, I think it's a great idea, what do you think would be the drawbacks in this idea?".

Going by the saying "The Boss is always right", I will hold his idea in high regard. But then I will make him understand how that idea is important for the organisation, so to have a deep analysis of pros and cons of the idea with ll the concerned people and ultimately the decisions lies in his hands.

Sir, Today you have this idea. Tomorrow or later on you will see the result. I am here next to you, I just want to warn you this, your idea will hurt your company so deep. You may angry at me now, because don't respect your idea. But I willing to be a bad person in front of you now, because I am the only one get hurt. It is better than when the day our company fail, we both cry like a baby. I have a better idea, please consider and take it if you agree. If not, I can see what kind of boss you are. And I will wonder if I choose the wrong boss to service.
