I think hard work is the basic stage of smart work. When a fresher join in any company they start their work as a hard worker but after a certain amount of time when they gain their knowledge then they work smartly or as a smart worker.

A Work is called Hard work (when it is done after taking so much time and efforts) and Smart work (when it is done using less efforts and technologies).

Hard work is static while Smart work changes with Experience in particular field.

Hard work means if you can't achieve your target in minimum time then your effort would be considered as a hard work and smart work means if you achieved your target in minimum time then your effort would be considered as a smart work.

Yeah, it's very simple,

Hard work - Determination. (At any cost work must be done!).

Smart work - think before you work. That's smart work.

According to me, A person must have both ability to work hard and think smart on situation.

According to me, basically, there is no difference. Without doing any hard work you can't do a smart work. And when someone says you are a smart worker then obviously you are doing some hard work and it's the result of that hard work.

When we do some work with more efforts and time then it's hard work.

But when we do same work with fewer efforts and time then it's a smart work.

(Here's no matter what type of work is there it may be physical work or mental work).

Hard working is a way of approaching and accomplishing a task while smart working is an optimized way of doing the same task. Experience is an aid to smart work.

Freshers are always hardworking while a professional is smart working.
