Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Self-confidence is having confidence in one's self.

The overconfidence effect is a well-established bias in which a person's subjective confidence in his or her judgments is reliably greater than the objective accuracy of those judgements, especially when confidence is relatively high. Overconfidence is one example of a miscalibration of subjective probabilities.

Confidence is self-appraisal and completing the given job at your best withing caring about the result.

However, Over confidence is treating yourself as the best without having thorough knowledge about anything and talking irrelevant things.

Confidence: Working on your action & accepting failure if it comes.

Over-Confidence: Linking yourself with the end result, not the action. Taking the result to your ego.

Confidence is having perks between passing and failing. You have the guts to pass and at the same time to fail the exam, you are not afraid of failure. And you're in doubt of passing, therefore you will prepare and review for exams, then you will succeed. You are more into preparation than the result.

Over confidence you are jumping into conclusion that you have been succeeded with less effort or preparation, then you'll fail. You are more into results than preparation.

In simple word:.

Confidence means I do and if I fail to do still I am trying my best to compute the task.

Over-confidence means I am the only one who can be the best of among all no one can bit my computation task.
