When you do something about which you're sure, it is confidence.

When you do something about which you're not sure and giving statements based on emotions, its overconfidence.

Confidence is the faith a person should have.

Example I can do this.

Overconfidence is too much confidence that we should never have.

Example only I can do this no one else.

Confidence means I can do this work. For example: I'm also suit for this job.

Overconfidence means only I can do this work. For example: I'm the only person suit for this job.

I would like to explain this answer by an example - if I am saying "I can do that" that's my confidence and if I am saying " only I can do that" that's part of over confidence.

There is just a minute difference between confidence and overconfidence.

If I tell I can mean that is my confidence. But if I tell I only can means that is my overconfidence.

In Confidence, a person says I can do this work (he says it politely).

But in OVER-CONFIDENCE a person says I can definitely do this work without observing the circumstances.
