I would like to explain this answer by an example - if I am saying "I can do that" that's my confidence and if I am saying " only I can do that" that's part of over confidence.

There is just a minute difference between confidence and overconfidence.
If I tell I can mean that is my confidence. But if I tell I only can means that is my overconfidence.

In Confidence, a person says I can do this work (he says it politely).
But in OVER-CONFIDENCE a person says I can definitely do this work without observing the circumstances.

Confidence is believing in myself, and I know that if I want to do something, I will never give up.
Overconfidence: I know what I want to do; I don't need any advice or help.

Confidence: Working on your action & accepting failure if it comes.
Over-Confidence: Linking yourself with the end result, not the action. Taking the result to your ego.
