When you know that you are worthy to do that work and your skill defines that saying I can do that is confidence.

When you don't know about the work and still say that I can only do the work is over confidence.

According to me, confidence is something with which you boldly or fearlessly face or tackle a situation.

And over-confidence is tackling a situation without proper knowledge about it.

Confidence tells our positive attitude and overconfidence tells that over attitude. Confidence in oneself is required to achieve something but overconfidence makes oneself into a different way of approach. Confidence is good for everything but with overconfidence, one can not reach heights.

If you believe you can do it, that's the confidence,

The difference is only in the belief of a person, both come from hard work but being overconfident towards something needs more passion towards it than a person can think of. It's not bad you know being overconfident, it only depends on individual perception of things as I said earlier.
