Confidence is believing in self. Striving to achieve the goals.
Overconfidence is underestimating others, attitude like I will do it without having any dedication towards the work.

According to me confidence means having a belief on your hard work which is reflected by an attitude I can do this.

According to me, confidence is a positive and encouraging side of one's mind and overconfidence is a negative side of one's mind. So, I think that confidence is more necessary than overconfidence.
