I can do it because I am well prepared, this is confidence.

I can do it easily and I don't need any preparation this is overconfidence.

Confidence helps us to do correct decision at right time and leads to positive thinking.

Overconfidence may lead to wrong decision and from this we may not be able to identify right things.

The difference between confidence and overconfidence is that confidence means the belief in yourself through your hard work. But overconfidence means you are thinking that you are the only person capable to do that work.

Confidence is when we feel sure about our abilities and make the right decisions. It is the feeling when we have faith in ourselves. And on the other hand, over confidence is when we take our abilities in excessive way overlooking the fact that we can be wrong too. So Confidence gives us strength and over confidence weakens.

I want to explain with an example.

I will win means it's confidence.

Only I will win means it's overconfidence.

And also we can say that if you say confidently, you have some knowledge about that. But you have known nothing but you are saying confidence means we can say it as overconfidence.

Confidence is something that refrains us from not doing the required process to achieve the result.

However, overconfidence stops us from doing the required process even before achieving the result because we are too sure of our capabilities.

I would like to explain this answer by an example - if I am saying "I can do that" that's my confidence and if I am saying " only I can do that" that's part of over confidence.

In my opinion, if I'm saying only I can do that part is Confidence.

The other side, I'm Saying only I can do that means that part is over-confidence.
