Hello friends as I read some views above, in which some satisfies me and some not. I want to share with all of us that the person whether he or she is selected in armed forces is not so eminently chosen for physically strong otherwise they will take Sushil kumar, Vijendar singh, Mary com and all, rather they take a person who has 'sound mind' which has capable to take responsibility of situation that it will definitely solve and a reasonable planning which give fruitful result and I think we all average people have this which make us leader in front of all and this not we joined with that if it is a selection of armed force so physical strength is most important and which will come with training and skills.

And the most important like see the women of Israel how fantastically they participated in Palestine war and America too as we see Nicola Thomas by this we also have to take lesson that we definitely develop our society by supporting women in armed forces which created a healthy environment in our country so unhygienic conditions are there and it is very safe place for women to work and they enjoy an adventurous life. As at this women day our theme to "Make it happen" so we start from today.

Thank you.

Well today we are not living in dark ages where women were confined to four walls of houses. Today whichever sphere of life it may be, whether its sports, academics, arts or technology women have shown their mettle and proved themselves. Then why not DEFENSE? And to those who are relating the word 'defense' merely with combat missions and physical strengths, I would humbly like to remind them that there are technological and administration departments in defense too.

Women can play their part there. We can cite a recent example of women empowerment in defense when Pooja Thakur, wing commander in Indian Air Force served inter service Guard of Honour to U.S President Barack Obama and made us proud, motivating thousands of girls across country to join defense.

So please stop whining about women are physically weak. Its not only d physical strength which is required in defense. Wars can be won by mental tactics too. And if we want our country to develop at a higher rate then whole of demographic dividend should get fair opportunities.

Now I would like to note this that people are neglect the women power generally. But its not a good practice, I am giving a recent example of "GORILLA GANG" this is a gang of women those are trained in Dholpur forests or tribal areas just because to fight against the red tapism or naxalism. And this gang is commanded by women only and most important thing is no men is a part of this gang. Is this a women power. So we can't say that, women are not as stronger as men.

I didn't read all the discussions but I want to say that I know there are many disadvantages and unsafe for women in the armed forces like sexual harassment's and much more. But then also I want to say that we women are not afraid of anything and we can challenge any flied because women are equal to the boys. My father is also a retired air force personal and he also support my views.

I think women can play an important role in defense services. Our honourable prime minister has showed women power to the whole world on this republic day. America president Mr.Obama has appreciated it. It is proved already that women is not less than men in any field. We talk about equality, giving rights to women is not only the equality. It should actually happen in practical. Women can do everything, what a man can do. She is not made to be called as house wife. If she will be given proper training like men then she can also contribute in this field.

OK I think many are supporting that women should be included in Indian armed forces a very good examples are being put up but answer my few questions.

1) How many women martyrs have India seen in Indian army?

2) Why they are not send to dangerous area?

3) And there are many advantages they have during their training and transfer?

So be technical don't keep saying equality in all.

To those who say women do not belong in armies/navies/air force because they lack the upper body strengthen ability to withstand pain, may I remind you a few points that we see in nature:

1. Females such as tigers, are the hunters.

2. Females go through immense pain while giving birth, which is not just during the time of giving birth but throughout a major portion of the 9 months.

Females are not as weak as you see them to be. I can even bet that a female like Mary Kom can take on any man here in this forum. With proper training, every man and woman gets stronger.

As for them being vulnerable to sexual torture if captured, that's probably, about the only reason why a woman would prefer not to be in the front-line in the army (not saying that there are none). There are many posts in the army as tactical support or navigational officers, etc that can suit their strengths fine. Also in the navy and air force they can take on any role a man can efficiently.

I'm a girl. To all those who say that we can't focus because of the fact we have to take care of a family and stuff, what if we don't have the need too? What if our family is fine with taking care of themselves and with the fact we don't want to marry? I play sports. A lot. And exceed most boys at it. I'm stronger than them too.

There are exceptions everywhere. Are we treated the same? Shouldn't there be a trial to see if the girl is worthy or not? Plus, why lower the difficulty level of the tasks? This is not the opportunity we're talking about. This is the safety of our country. If a woman can clear all of them, then what's the problem.

The rule makers haven't made everything clear. And if they have, I cannot find it. I have been searching the net since hours. Peace.

I do not think that women are not fit for army because women more stronger than men physically mentally but I agree that men are some time stronger than women because of their environment from childhood and the most important thing is their body design but if proper training is given to women they are better than men. Who think that women are not fit for solider post they are insulting women power.

At one side we are talking about women empowerment but women are not allow in infantry why so when all says better than men than why women are not allowed in infantry. In against some says family will not allow but they forget the logical thing that the women who want to join infantry they do not care for any body they are independent enough and are very brave so they want to join if our government is not allowing women in infantry then they have no right to say that women empowerment is going on.

I agree that women have some biological problems but every problem have its own solution. Hens I want to say that women should also get the chance to join infantry as soldiers.

Women are fit, they can do any job some times better than many. But the problem lies with the family. Many families will not allow their daughter to enter in defense. In many families women are grown in a different environment, which make them believe that they are weak. If a women have full support from family and she is confident enough, then she will be great asset for the country.
