With Media Publishing and Telecasting Trivia, Censorship is the Need of the Hour

Media is the most powerful tool if people of the nation use it in a right way. Now-a-days there are very few news channels or paper which actually give us news and relevant information. There are some news channel which give us irrelevant news which do not increase our knowledge and they do it just to increase their TRP rate. Same thing is with the news paper. How many of us know about the news channels which give some informative real news. For such cases censor board should step forward and take initiative to stop such things.

Not only this there are some channels which are not at all informative and can deprive the mind of young ones. For them censorship should be used.

What role the media is playing in our lives or in building up of a nation is no more a secret today. Be it the Anna Harare's Lock pal bill or the recent 16/12 case. The role that media had played cannot be ignored on any grounds. But the unfortunate fact is that today the primary function of media that is to deliver the truth has taken a backseat. Generally the main reporters being send to cover some major fashion show whereas the smaller ones are being send to cover the story of the suicidal case of a farmer. Has the media forgotten that its a news channel and not a fashion channel ?

Censorship is required to make media realize their long forgotten duty.

In my opinion, censorship is the need of the hour as the media is busy in telecasting and publishing useless matter. Some points to support my view are:.

1. Important issues are given less importance and trivial issues like celebrities marriage, celebrities lifestyle etc are being telecasted. Newspaper is also filled with rubbish, like minister having an affair, actress giving birth to a baby. These news are on front page and the news of national importance is hidden on inside pages.

2. Todays media is getting corrupt and is thus deviating from its original objective of telecasting and publishing truth, in place its showing the news in the favour of a person or organisation, which is bribing them.

3. Its publishing and telecasting the news with its own "add ons " to it, in order to make it more attractive.

I think media is special tool is creating massive awareness regarding certain incident. It can help many poor people get a helping hand if their story is presented in newspaper and it happens. Media can help in curbing social evils existing in our society but political issues are also important. When it comes to reporting about political issues media has its limit. Sometimes under pressure only half truth is shown due to which people do not got to know real truth of ongoing politics whether negative or positive.


Media persons can carry out sting operation on certain people to know their real face take example of Indian player sreesanth. Sometimes media person get so desperate to cover certain news that they don't think about the family of accused person even if his/her involvement in crime has not been proved and try to get details about family when family is not the one who has committed that crime. That is also true media do not give importance to news that is a real news but to some stupid event and keep on displaying it and at certain point you will see that news being flashed as headlines in all new channels. So really censorship is important for media.

Media can give us more benefits like it can us more knowledge about politics, and what is happening in the country and world, about new technology innovations. But today's media has forgotten its role. Its only works for own trp. Its always concentrate on celebrities affairs, their personal matters. Today media make big issue from small news like last year news (in 2012 world should have end).

Like two sides of a coin everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. Media in today's world does everything it can to improve its popularity, it is looking at an issue with an idea of making money rather than depicting what really has happened. Sensationalism is something that must be checked quickly, media is trying to create unwanted attention to some of the current issues. But still a world without media will be like living in the dark. I would seriously recommend not to have a bad opinion about media because except a few a lot of media individuals are dealing with issues with great sensitivity.

Media is of great flexibility it bends the way we like to bend it, so personal discretion should be brought to action. The viewer must be in a way to sort right from wrong, even today's media is trying to lure people from the truth of various issues. Even new york times long back accepted to publicizing and speculating wrong information among people.

Media should act as a communicating channel to transmit information which should be truth. Not the information which is beneficial for a particular forum/channel. Their job is to aware people to know about what is happening in the world, but nowadays it is distracting from its job. Ya, in some manner media is performing their well. But others are just making money.

Firstly, censorship is required to censor those parts of telecasting media which can result in the bad consequences. Secondly, censorship makes each people aware about the telecast of false items through news, internet etc. Thirdly, steps should be taken to stop children to enter the cinema halls only under one condition that management of censorship is capable enough to take these steps.

First of all we should know that what is right and what is wrong. Media is of very important status in world, it fills up the motto of "let the truth prevails". We know that with the help of the media we are able to know what is happening around us in this world. About the science, politics, sports, medicine, economy. We know the early warnings about any disasters. It helps to improve our knowledge. But some peoples are making wrong use of the media for their own benefit, for those only censorship is the need.
