I don't think so, if water resources are nationalized then that may be another reason to instigate war. Water is free flowing, a nations inability to maintain healthy water will cause the dirt n other things to flow to other nations causing differences. Even if we talk about division of water on the basis of states, every state will have its own demand.

We are already having enough agitations on the division of states then division water would be disastrous, every other territory will demand more and more. The best thing I feel that can be done is to allocate a strong distribution channel to ensure that water reaches the unprivileged parts of our country.

The water resources should be nationalized is a good idea that the state political parties can not have a bone for a contention among the people. Since the local political parties have a keen eye on cashing the melee situations created for their benefit.

This ulterior motive was quite obvious when the people of Kerala and Tamilnadu out on the ground with lethal weapons for water related issue. So all rivers and reservoirs established in our country should go under one command. When it happened, the people of India could see nothing but development in every aspect which will pave a good platform for us to get into the label of super power country.

Some parts of India are flooded with Rain, they don't have place to live till the flooded rain water gets drained, in some other parts people are longing to get water for irrigation and their basic needs.

We can stop all these if we Nationalize all water resources in India. But this is still under consideration from Government side, But no steps have been taken to implement this.

As per my Knowledge the problems in implementing this I think are,

Detailed well planned architecture have to be prepared to connect all rivers without any city gets affected and it should be taken under one control.

National rivers must be nationalized and govt should have full domination over it. Its not a property of any individual state or its leaders who seeks for their own benefit. Now a days it became a tendency to oppose all the issues of govt by the political or opposition leaders and finally it hampers the growth of our economy and country. There is no unity or oneness between the states of our country finally if the domination over the rivers go in the hand of political parties then sure it will lead to sabotage. And also no politics is permanent and only the people can rely on government.

Water resources need not be nationalized. This may result in gross injustice if the government allots larger quantities of water to the neighboring state than to the state in which the rivers originally flow. It is better for the states to conclude an agreement on how much quantity of water they must share rather than central government's involvement. There are special tribunals to give t heir judgement if any conflict arises between the states. Where ever the water resources are present, that area has complete right to take majority of share to meet the needs of that region. Thank you.

HI EVERYONE, Water resources should be nationalized, its shouldn't be state wise because we have many river, which overflows for the city every year, example IN BIHAR RIVER Gandak, Burhi Gandak and Bagmati, Kamla, Kosi and Mahananda " due to heavy rain in the catchment areas of the major rivers of Nepal which flows down to north Bihar. We facing disaster every year in many cities, so I think GOI should think about this topic seriously and my places where water is not there so people died bcs of water so. Its important to water resources should be nationalized.

Hello friends.

I am Avinash. In my opinion, water resource should be nationalised. If water resources are nationalised the area which is water scarcity will get water. We can divert water from high rainfall area to low rainfall area. It can be beneficial in two ways, one is the area will get under irrigation and people from that area can do better agricultural practices. This will generate employment in that area.

Second is if the area comes under irrigation the production of agriculture comodities will increase and it helps in Indian economy.

In my point of view the nationlisation of water is must because in so much of states facing water scarcity problems. To avoid such kind of problems nationalisation is must. I would like to share my idea with you some states having well water resource but they are not fully the water resource and in many states they are well positioned in power production from water but ther not sufficient water resource in such states in thi s condition the states that are good in water resource can give water to power production states and also for agriculture.

According to me nationalization of water resources has its own pros and cons.

The brighter side promises reduced inter -state conflicts, lower exploitation by individual states, higher portion of water available to farmers and greater monetary support allocation by the Central Government. Further if water is privatized in high water consuming sectors of metro- cities it would reduce overuse of water. On the other end it could lead to unfairly distribution of water by the government. Therefore it is difficult to come to a unanimous conclusion.

Hi Friends, I really appreciate your views regarding this topic and I would like to present my views on this topic also. According to me water resources should be nationalised because water is really a very important part of our life. We can't survive without water. India is a big country and approximately 50% people are living below poverty line. If water resources be privatised they couldn't survive. India is a agricultural country so nationalising water resource will also help to grow our villages and agriculture.
