Should voters be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice?

NOTA is a good option provided the voters use it for a good cause if they think the candidates are ineligible to participate in the election. Being a democratic country, the constitution provided us with a right to vote, still many educated persons are unwilling to vote. The NOTA system provides them with a vote to not to vote anyone and show their dissatisfaction towards the nominees. Though the ECI has provided NOTA as an option, their main motto is to increase the voting percentage. All the NOTA votes are considered invalid and despite the majority of the NOTA votes the highest majority candidate wins. With some changes in the NOTA system concentrating on abolishing corruption and ineligibility of the candidate. Even if there is 1% of NOTA is recorded in an election that would take lakhs of votes as invalid. There must be a limit to the NOTA votes such that exceeding this limit the ECI would propose a re-election by re-opening nominations.

I think this would make some difference in "giving NOTA choice" to the voters as it gives an opportunity in knowing the people's true opinion.

According to me, NOTA choice is the best answer a voter can give to the highly corrupted and uneducated politicians and the best way to select the deserving person. This should be introduced in our voting system as soon as possible.

This option will give the voter the right to vote as well as reject the unwanted persons if they don't feel them be deserving after analysing their previous criminal records and education.

Youth will be encouraged to use their right for a fruitful purpose and this can ultimately lead to the betterment of the society.

My point is, If many of them or the majority of them used NOTA then there will be no ruling party.

According to me, voters should get NOTA choice because as we people know that in elections all the citizens are allowed to participate so poor are mostly never getting the facilities that they expect from the candidate. In our parliamentary system poor and low caste peoples opinions have no special value so if they will complain, then also no action will be taken on their opinion. So if there will be NOTA choice they will be satisfied with their vote and they will not feel bad.

The highest NOTA voted candidate should be barred to participate in next election.

In my opinion,

NOTA as an option should be given to the voters. First, let us understand what is NOTA: None of the Above means people are not satisfied with the candidates or their opinion who are standing for the election, this way people will utilize their power of democracy. Rather than staying at home and criticising. This way people's participation in a vote also increases and their right to vote.

There is also some demerit like if the NOTA vote is less than 75% then these votes are not valid And there will be no re-election. Other than that some people will use the NOTA option for useless reasons. Now concluding my words having the option of NOTA will provide full-fledged use of democracy. And people's right of being sovereign at the time of election.

In my point of view, there should be an option for NOTA. If there is no option for NOTA definitely people have to vote for one candidate. The candidate may or may not has the capabilities to rule the country. This leads to many problems. If there is no option for NOTA that we are means people.

Are electing the wrong person to rule their country or village whatever it may be.

If we elect any person blindly that indirectly we are supporting the election of an incorrect person for a nation. We have the responsibility of electing the right person for bright future.

Yes, NOTA is given to voters for option. It will be a great dicision towards the awareness of voters to our poltics. Some youngsters don't like any candidate in elections and we say that they don't like politics. So they give NOTA option in election just to say that none them is able to compete election.
