Yes, I think it's a good decision by the supreme court to play the national anthem at the cinema hall. One should have the feeling of patriotism alive in his heart and cinema is one place where many people go. I also think that national anthem should also be played other fields like colleges and offices so that we can always have a feeling in our heart and think of our army soldiers protecting us. But we need to understand that it is not made compulsory that someone has to stand for that to show his patriotism or love towards country it's simply his personal choice. So doing violence in terms of this is not a wise act. He might have some problem or he might have just watched one movie and came to watch another so is it really necessary for him to stand now? therefore we need to think on our way of viewing this important matter.

I think it is a great step taken by SC about playing national anthem in cinema. In Colombia and Thailand, it is a law to play national anthem in every morning in every public TV and radio. And I think playing in cinemas is much better than playing in TV and Radio stations because in the home typically people never stand up while national anthem because nobody is watching them but in cinemas, they have to stand up and respect national anthem it brings unity in them. At least they remember to respect their nation. As nowadays it is only mandatory in schools and our youth is becoming self-centered. They have no time to be patriotic. And cinemas is the plays where today's youth often go. And I don't think the person respecting his or her country have a problem to stand just for 52 sec for respecting nation before watching a movie.

I think that this step taken by Government should be appreciated because as I was in School I heard and tends to love the patriotic feeling towards India but when I started entering College I didn't even hear that except during Independence day and Republic day. This makes me feel so disgusted friends. As from my knowledge, Government takes a right step in right time. The entertainment stands apart, but this is the only place where the youngsters play a major role and since they are the future citizens of India they must understand the struggle for freedom of India by our freedom fighters. Hence I conclude by saying that.
Youngsters must hear the National Anthem regain their past and also they should take a resolution not only to be patriotic but also support towards development of country (EVERY INDIVIDUAL FORMS CITIZENS).

First and foremost, Patriotism should not be instilled forcefully or we can not impose it on someone. The love for nation comes through heart, and our nation has great heritage where our thousand of people sacrificed their lives for sake of nation and it's solidarity. We chant national anthem in respect of nation and its culture and history, school, colleges begin there work by playing anthem, almost in all government offices it has been done.
Secondly, theatre is not a official government property, people come there by paying money to get entertainment and refreshment from their daily hectic schedule. We cannot force them to stand them because mind set in almost different, and if we do so then we are imposing forcefully on people. This should not be done and it's not parameter to judge someone nationalism.

Hi everyone,
Today's topic is "Should national anthem be played in cinema halls? I would like to share my personal experience, once I had gone to the cinema hall, when the national anthem started, I marked that some persons were giving proper respect and the rest of them were just busy in there talk & all. I am not saying this idea is wrong, but here the wrong thing is a selection of place. Because if you really want to apply this rule, then you should apply all these rules in every educational field (school, college, university) which is the pillar of a student. From which they will learn how to give respect. No doubt, it's a new idea and a change is better than nothing. Need to some amendment in this rule. Jai Hind.
Thank you.
Where the new generation of India will learn the value of this.

Well, my point of view on this topics is that,
Playing national anthem is a good practice and a very wise step taken by the supreme court. According to me there are three biggest reason why I am saying this.
Number one, I don't see anything wrong in it. Standing for one min should not be the problem to the people to respect their own country.
Second reason is, like wise playing national anthem in schools, colleges, it is great way to generate the patriotism in the people. It show the national integration and brotherhood among the citizen of the nation.
Third one is, it is the best possible way to remember the sacrifice of freedom fighters, who lost their lives for the independence of India. Moreover to respect the solders who are constantly protecting use from the threads of the world.

Yes, why not.
Why does anyone not raise such kinds of question when national anthem is played before the play starts in a cricket match? It's because they think that the players are playing at the national level for their country and they should pay respect to the country by singing the national anthem. They are wrong. Personally, I don't think that patriotism has any link with the level at which you are contributing to the nation. So why can't we- as a common man sing the national anthem in the cinema halls. We used to sing the national anthem at the school and college level only, after that I don't think there is an institution where we get an opportunity to sing it again. And if we are getting an opportunity to sing national anthem then we should take it with both hands open.

I do not support national anthem to be played in cinema halls but I condemn the act which was done by many people by not standing for a national anthem. My word is, if you do not want to stand if you do not want a national anthem to be played in cinema hall, kindly go and file a case in supreme court regarding that but you have no right to disrespect our national anthem either, and I want to say that playing national anthem in the cinema hall would neither show your patriotism either there are many ways to show your patriotism to the nation if you are standing for a national anthem and your patriotism is over no, this won't work either, you have to pay gratitude by every act of socialization in your nation. Help some needy, help NGOs etc, there are many ways to show patriotism.

Listening to the National Anthem of one's own country is something that fills the mind with an immense pride. I indeed feel that National Anthem should be played not only in cinema halls but also in other ceremonies of national importance.
One may feel that merely standing for two minutes does not portray patriotism, but if one cannot spare out even two minutes for his country in his joyous time (which Mother India has showered on him), how can it be ever expected that such a person will even care about his country when she needs him the most!
Doing such small things can do big wonders. I admit that in this busy life schedule it is difficult to take care of others and serve our country, but such minute actions will really give us a feeling of satisfaction and pride.

In my opinion,
Mostly busy people who need peace for mind go to watch movies. They just go to theatre, enjoy the movie and goes back to their home. Some people like hearing national anthem, some may not.
But when thinking another way, our national anthem itself provides peace for mind. Rabindranath Tagore have made it with beautiful words. In that he has mentioned about the sacred rivers like Ganga, Yamuna which are People who love our country will really love to hear it anywhere and they will show respect. Before watching the movie, people's mind get cooled and they can watch the movie peacefully.
Some people does not realise the magic in our national anthem. So they should realise it.
I conclude by saying that National Anthem should be played in cinema halls.
