Hello everyone.

I am Novaraj.

In my life experience and in my point of view, any person who comes to the cinema hall to enjoy and relax, that's the janagamana play. The cinema hall is the time wastle; the people could not accept that.

Patriotism is meaningful only when it comes naturally from the heart, not when it is imposed or forced in a particular place like a cinema hall, which is primarily meant for entertainment. People already show respect to the nation in many ways such as paying taxes, following laws, voting, and contributing to society.

If the national anthem is made compulsory everywhere, it may actually reduce its emotional value because people might start seeing it as a forced ritual rather than genuine respect.

Therefore, while respecting the national anthem is extremely important, patriotism should be voluntary and expressed through responsible actions towards the nation, rather than being enforced in entertainment spaces.

A cinema hall is primarily a place for entertainment, not a civic or ceremonial venue. Forcing people to stand for the anthem in such a context can feel artificial or even coercive. Patriotism is meaningful when it’s voluntary, not when it’s performed under social pressure. Also, disrespect can happen unintentionally — people may talk, eat popcorn, or arrive late, which can trivialize the anthem.

A better idea might be to keep the national anthem for more appropriate contexts: national events, schools, government ceremonies, sports matches, places where the mood naturally aligns with collective respect. In a cinema, people should be free to watch a film without being tested for patriotism.

I agree to people saying the national anthem should be played before the movie starts in the cinema hall and would like to add some more points, cricket is too a form of entertainment but still, we chant there. Also after our school ends we don't sing the national anthem on any basis. Hence, to keep that spark of "patriotism" we need this. How often do we visit to watch movies? on an average 12 times a year max and it isn't too much to give 10 minutes in a year to your nation I believe. After all, movies published, and produced in our country are a form of growth of the economy which must be aligned with its essence and an NRI watches movies in INDIA it's a pride and elation to make them amicable to our culture. I think it's a sign of respect & not disrespect.

Hello guys, My name is Sandeep Kaur.

So, in my point of view, the national anthem must be played in cinema halls you know why these issues have come in mind there is a reason: one day a movie is played in a cinema and people are singing the national anthem in that so that time the audience is not standing only one person stands and give respect so that day, that person fire a case to cinema halls and then supreme court gives the order to play it in cinema halls because we have to stand for the soldiers who are sacrifice their lives for the country.

According to my perspective, the national anthem timing is fixed and then guards close the gates so that the left people can join the halls after the national anthem.

According to the Supreme Court of India in 2016 under the bench of Justices Honourable Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy, declared that every cinema hall was to play the national anthem before the screening.

I know it's not easy but it cannot be impossible or bad:

Like if we cannot stand for ourselves then how soldiers can stand for us? I know there are some particular reasons which are not good like as;

If some people are not standing then it disrespects our nation and if people are moving then it also so I can say that if the national anthem should be played in cinema halls before screening then there should be some mandatory strict actions for those who are disrespecting the national anthem.

Hi all,

Today, I am sharing my thoughts on the topic of "should play the national anthem in cinema hall. ".

In 2016, the Supreme Court said to play the national anthem with the Indian flag on the screen in a cinema hall before playing the movie screen. And people will stand up to respect the national anthem.

Force people are not happy with this decision of the Supreme Court; they said that the national anthem does not need to be played in a cinema hall because patriotism does not come from saying. It's a feeling of respect for our country.

Indeed, patriotism does not come from saying. It's a feeling that is automatically generated by our hearts for our nation. And we don't need to play the national anthem in a cinema hall. We go there for entertainment and enjoyment. And the national anthem is not part of entertainment; it's a show of respect for our nation.

Reading through these comments I see that the main point raised by people who think the national anthem should be played is a " show of patriotism", let me ask if playing the national anthem inculcate patriotism why don't we just play it everywhere from hotels to hospitals.

Well my point is I think things that symbolize our nation should be respected let it be our national flag anthem emblem or anything but introducing them into places like a movie hall is unnecessary and will only rip it of its value because where should the national anthem be played? at events of national importance and at some institutions where it holds rarity and value.

There are better ways to contribute to your nation and patriotism is not a show off it should be feeling from within we have days to reminisce about the men/women who died protecting our country just like we have days for all those from varied professions who contributed in its cause before and after independence [so see we don't need boosts of the national anthem for that] and yes for those who said it's just 52 seconds compared to a 2-3 hour movie the point is not the time here but what the anthem holds in a movie hall where I watched romcom movie yesterday.

1) Yes, obviously the national anthem should play in cinema halls before screening because it is one of the ways to show our patriotism.

2) If somebody says no the national anthem will not play in cinema halls because the cinema hall is only for enjoyment means "The stadiums are also only for enjoyment why is the national anthem played before the match?".

3) According to the supreme court of India in 2016 under the bench Justices Honourable Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy, declare that every cinema halls were to play the national anthem before the screening.

4) So, there are no any problems and issues created while playing the national anthem in cinema halls and it's our duty to pay respect to our nation and our soldiers.

Hello, this is Sharmila and I want to say about whether the National anthem should be played in cinema halls or not yes National anthem should not be played in cinema halls because in cinema halls we all go for enjoyment and so many types of people come there they do not respect our National anthem and they do not stand that time (they disrespect) and National anthem is National anthem. This is not an entertainment song and people come thereafter duty and so the National anthem should not be played in cinema halls.
