First of all, what do we understand by the term official language? It can be referred as a common language which can be used in all the government sectors throughout the nation. Taking Hindi into consideration it can be used as official language considering majority of the people know Hindi. But the people who don't know cannot be ignored and in South Indian states, people don't use Hindi as the common language for communication.
There is no harm in keeping Hindi as the official language alongside English and a local language of the particular state. There can be one or more official languages implemented.

Hindi cannot and should not be 'The' official language of India. Firstly, there are 22 other Indian languages which are equally Indian as Hindi. Secondly, other than a few North Indian states people have other native languages. Thirdly, Hindi is as non-native to me as English as I do not find common ground with it. My suggestion is to let English be the official language as it is neutral and a level playing field for all Indians. North Indians should make the effort to learn English snd stop being under the misconception that majority of Indians speak, understand or even like Hindi.

According to me, Hindi should not be declared as an official language. Many people are residing in this earth. Each people mother tongue is different, For every people their language is important. Hindi is spoken by only fewer people in Tamilnadu, Kerala etc. And it is also difficult to understand. Language should not be a barrier between people. Hindi as an official language in not accepted. According to the majority, Tamilians are more in number, they know Tamil, English, Telugu etc. But Hindi is only a third language to many students. So they do not know it completely. Thank you.

I do not agree with the statement that Hindi should be official language of India as most of the people in India do not speak Hindi there are many other languages also who different people speak in different regions of India. AND for those who are saying that Hindi should be official language for protecting our culture and our heritage they should first go and find out more information because as far as my knowledge in India people firstly use to speak Sanskrit and many books like RAMAYAN MAHABHARAT were written in Sanskrit. So I think all languages should be given equal importance.

For a human being, a language is a tool of effective communication. All over the world, human beings are biologically the same but still have thousands of languages. It is very hard to find how so many languages evolved but the point is we have a lot of languages. Hindi is one of the thousand languages. It is totally nonsense to declare one language as the official language of India because India is a very diverse country. Local language should be respected and recognised as the official language for that region. The concept of a National official language is not possible in India.

Hi.
India is a colorful country because there are different types of folks and festivals so as languages. But Hindi is one the popular language among all because 70% of the people speak, understand and communicate in Hindi because they belong to rural areas. On the other hand, English is also very popular in India as well as in most of the countries so if we have to billed relations to other countries we have to learn English as well as other languages.
But if I conclude so I will say that as we are Indian so there must be any Indian language should be the national language.

According to me, Hindi should not be official language as of now because of following reasons,
1. As we all know, India is a developing country and our CAD is high. As part of global trade and to attract FDI and FPI, it will be convenient if we use English, which is the official language for many developed Countries.
2. Hindi is not spoken all over India and many people do not know to read Hindi which will be difficult for people to translate the official documents to regional languages.
3. The compulsion of Hindi language may bring social unrest in one part of society.

Yes, definitely Hindi should be our official language I can prove it by my own opinion I. E- we know that JAPAN is very much known for best technology in the world and their official language is Japanese and their educational language is also Japanese and nowadays they are ruling arkund the world and now turn up into China they are best for medical and their official language is Chinese and they are to ruling the world. And hence if we want more development in our educational system, daily lifestyle and in our work efficiency then our official language must be "HINDI".

Yes, Hindi along with English can be the official language of India. Official language doesn't mean it is the national language of India. So people don't need to worry if they don't know Hindi. Hindi is spoken by almost 45% of the total population of India. Hence, it is the most widely used language of India. Many south Indian languages also take a word from Hindi language. Atleast, it can be our official language.
As a nation, we need a language that can unite us and we can understand each other in a better way. This can be done by the Hindi language.
Thank you.

In my view, India is a big country and people have different regional languages, which make it difficult for them to convey their thoughts. And a language acts as a medium of conversation between the two or more people. When people do not understand what the other person is saying it becomes very difficult for us to help him. So in India there is a huge need for a common national language. Now Hindi is very popular in the northern states while the southern prefer to speak English but more people can understand Hindi easily so Hindi should be the national language.
